Over 10 primate species call the forest home among which include baboons, chimpanzees, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Colobus monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a birders paradise with over 350 species recorded.

After gorilla trekking in Bwindi, you will head for one of the most beautiful lakes in Uganda. Lake Bunyonyi (Place of many little birds in the local language) is dotted with 29 Islands. It is surrounded by on all sides by steep hills and forest. Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest in Africa and is excellent for relaxation, swimming, canoeing and nature walks. One can also visit the local Batwa people or go biking. Lake Bunyonyi is a very popular destination for relaxation after visiting Bwindi or as a stopping point for resting during long safaris in Uganda.
